Judges 3:7-9

⁷ And the Israelites did evil in the sight of the Lord and forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth.^(A)

⁸ So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and He sold them into the hand of Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the Israelites served Chushan-rishathaim eight years.

⁹ But when the Israelites cried to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for the people of Israel to deliver them, Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.
